Chairman's Message

Message from Bill Solomon, Founder and Show Chair:

Welcome to The Pipeline + Energy Expo 2015!

As Chairman, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the only energy event of its kind in Tulsa that brings together all of the right pieces: energy owners, manufacturers, contractors, technical, educational, financial, and service providers.

Now in its seventh year, The Pipeline + Energy Expo has become the premier energy event connecting professionals in Oklahoma, surrounding states and Canada. Our loyal exhibitors, sponsors and attendees who have supported this show since its humble beginnings in 2009 are in for a treat as we continue to grow every element of the event.

The most notable addition is the two-day conference program exploring topics such as pipeline safety and integrity, optimization and efficiencies in a low oil price environment, and best practices. The trade show has also been expanded to a two-day format providing more opportunity to experience new technology and live equipment demonstrations on the show floor.

This year, we are thrilled to welcome the Natural Gas Vehicles Oklahoma (NGVOK) trade show and conference, making The Pipeline + Energy Expo the most comprehensive energy event in the region.

As you explore the show, please join me on the showcase stage as I visit with distinguished guests and learn about new products and services for the energy industry. And don’t miss the opportunity to connect with friends and colleagues at our Game Day Reception on Tuesday evening.

I personally want to recognize the efforts and enthusiasm of our this year’s show participants:  your willingness to take control of your future by being a part of a bigger strategy is a strong indication of the steadfast commitment of our community to work together in the current business climate. In addition, we are fortunate to have the ongoing support of Oklahoma leaders like Governor Mary Fallin and Congressman Jim Bridenstine, who are dedicated to promoting the Oklahoma energy industry nationally.

Finally, I would like to extend my appreciation to dmg::events, the company with which we have formed a strategic partnership to help make this event even more successful and expand our opportunities to connect with more businesses around the world.

We hope that you make the most of your time at the show and equip yourself with the knowledge you need to navigate the road ahead.  This event is good for you, better for Oklahoma and best when done together.

Enjoy your time at The Pipeline + Energy Expo 2015!

Why Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s Energy Legacy

In 1897, Bartlesville’s Nellie Johnstone No. 1 became Oklahoma’s first profitable oil well, laying a firm foundation in our state’s continued success as an energy leader and innovator.

Oklahoma offers a wide range of advantages, such as a central location for manufacturing and service for pipelines, many of which meet in Oklahoma and have substantial maintenance or replacement requirements.

Surging new oil production in the Mid-Continent is growing the need to develop and enhance transportation infrastructure to move oil in and out of the region. Similarly, unprecedented new supplies of natural gas are creating new market opportunities to more fully utilize the resource in every demand sector.

Oklahoma has a strong heritage as an energy producing state and is a driving force behind the resurgence in U.S. energy supplies.

Access to Major Oil & Gas Markets

Oklahoma is the fourth largest producer of natural gas and fifth largest producer of crude oil in the U.S. The state houses the industry’s entire supply chain, including production companies like Chesapeake and Devon, marketing and midstream companies such as Williams and OneOK, and five petroleum refineries.

Cushing, Oklahoma is regarded as the “pipeline crossroads of the world,” and serves as both the price point for WTI Crude (historically the global benchmark for crude oil) and is the largest oil storage facility in the world. Oklahoma produces more than 8% of U.S natural gas supplies. Across the U.S., Oklahoma companies were responsible for an even larger percentage.

Central Location with Integrated Transportation Systems

Thanks to its central location and a comprehensive network of air, road, water and rail, Oklahoma has the capacity to deliver products to every part of the U.S. and beyond. The state forms a hub of the nation’s major rail tracks and key interstate highways and houses three inland ports and two international airports.

CNG Revolution

The oil and gas industry in Oklahoma continues to serve as a vital contributor to the U.S. energy infrastructure. Oklahoma’s energy role is expanding as it transitions to cleaner burning fossil fuels leading to a substitution of natural gas for coal in many production processes.

Oklahoma’s CNG infrastructure ranks number one in the nation in the number of public-use fueling station and state motor fleets on CNG.

Oklahoma’s Bold Energy Plan

Governor Mary Fallin unveiled the Oklahoma’s First Energy Plan in 2011. The plan focuses on fostering economic development, transitioning transportation fuels, optimizing existing energy systems and positioning Oklahoma for the future by leveraging natural resources.

The Plan also includes a coordinated effort between Oklahoma and other states to attract automobile manufacturers in the U.S. to develop a functional and affordable fleet of natural gas vehicles (NGV).

About the Event

The Pipeline + Energy Expo is a three-day forum showcasing Oklahoma businesses and proving opportunities for industry suppliers and buyers to network from across North America. The Pipeline + Energy Expo consists of a two-day tradeshow and conference, professional development training, a benefit dinner, golf tournament and a variety of networking functions.

For 2015 The Pipeline + Energy Expo has expanded its focus to include all forms of energy including a Natural Gas Vehicle Oklahoma (NGVOK) Pavilion, Instrumentation Systems and Automation and Metal Fabrication for energy.

History of the Event

Formerly known as the Tulsa Pipeline Expo, The Pipeline + Energy Expo connected businesses in Oklahoma, surrounding states and Canada with interests in pipeline challenges, regulation, integrity, and proposed projects. Now in its seventh year, the event has grown into one of the most important energy meetings in the country and continues to reach forward and touch new audiences across the nation and into international markets.

Future of the Event

In 2014, an alliance was announced between dmg::events – global energy and The Pipeline + Energy Expo, to assist in the organization and expansion of the conference and exhibition in 2015. dmg::events – global energy (a division of dmg::events) is one of the largest trade show and conference organizers in the world. Its premier energy events, such as the International Pipeline Exposition and the Global Petroleum Show, bring together global buyers and sellers of oil and gas technology, products and services.

Community Investment

The Pipeline + Energy Expo supports the Eagle Gift Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to Oklahoma charitable organizations who promote educational programs, protect vulnerable children, and lend a helping hand to those experiencing adversity.
